  • Legislators table health study of artificial turf athletic fields

    By Brian Lockhart, The Stamford Advocate (from May 1, 2008) - “A state study of the environmental and health effects of artificial turf athletic fields is on hold unless funds can be found to pay for it. The Senate tabled a bill authorizing a study of the pulverized rubber tires used to cushion the fields because of its $250,000 price tag. In November, Fairfield's Conservation Commission did not allow the private Fairfield Country Day School to reconstruct its fields using synthetic turf.” Read more
