School Nurse
River Oaks Baptist School is seeking a compassionate and experienced School Nurse to join the ROBS team!
This position provides nursing, health, and emergency care to students and serves as a key resource for addressing health concerns within the school. Core duties include delivering daily care to students as needed; administering first aid and medications; maintaining accurate health records; and providing training to faculty and staff on relevant medical and wellness topics.
Responsibilities
- Staff the school clinic during regular school hours (7:45 a.m. – 3:45 p.m.)
- Provide prompt and professional nursing care to students who become ill or are injured during the school day
- Administer and manage student medications in accordance with physician directives and school policy
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records and required health forms for all students
- Develop and implement individualized health care plans for students with chronic or complex medical needs
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding student health concerns and school-related implications
- Offer medical-related training and guidance to faculty and staff through regular in-service sessions
- Accompany students on field trips when nursing support is needed
- Perform additional duties as assigned, aligned with the mission and values of River Oaks Baptist School
Position Qualifications
- Successful completion of background checks and verification
- A vibrant Christian faith and a desire to work in a Christian environment
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Valid license to practice professional nursing (R.N.) in the State of Texas
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in nursing. Experience in school nursing, emergency/ICU nursing, pediatric nursing or community health is preferable
- Current certification in CPR
- Proficiency in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and email communication
