Upper School Biology Teacher
St. Andrew's Episcopal School is seeking a biology teacher for a full time, permanent position starting August 2026 at our Upper School campus on Southwest Parkway in Austin, TX. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree or higher in biology or a closely related field, excellent character, student-centered teaching philosophy, several years of teaching experience, a working knowledge of a variety of biology topics, including AP Biology, a working knowledge of lab and lab safety protocols, and a passion for teaching biology.
A typical full-time position involves teaching four classes, advising a small group of students, and an additional duty such as coaching, on-campus supervision, or sponsoring a student organization. Salary will be based on the candidate's experience and qualifications. Candidates who contribute to the cultural and ethnic diversity of the community are encouraged to apply.
Specific to this position, a desirable candidate would have teaching experience in some or all the following areas:
- AP Biology
- Project Based Learning
- Collaboration with a teaching team
Preferred candidates would also have some technical experience in applying the following (or similar) applications in a biology classroom:
- Vernier’s LoggerPro
- Desmos
- Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, Sites)
