Job Overview

We are currently seeking a full time Physical Education Teacher, for the maternelle section, at our lower campus. At least 3 years of experience as a Physical Education Teacher are necessary.
Job duties include but are not limited to the following:
Coaching Instruction
- Use a variety of instructional techniques and media to meet the needs and improve the physical abilities of students.
- Manage and supervise student physical activities and practice sessions to promote individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, and good sportsmanship.
- Work with other members of school staff to plan and put in place instructional goals and objectives to ensure the overall physical educational development of students.
Program Management
- Establish development criteria for instructional programs and evaluate students’ physical abilities initially and on a regular basis.
- Take all necessary precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
Student Management
- Recognize the needs of individual students and groups at large. Offer support as needed using flexible groups, workshops, compacting and other differentiation models.
- Establish consistent and logical limits, expectations, and routines for students to allow for maximization of learning.
- Maintain an organized and inviting physical environment.
- Handle stressful situations with grace, patience, understanding, and flexibility.
- Encourage, by example and through instruction, sportsmanlike conduct in all phases of physical and athletic participation.
Communication
- Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with parents, students, teachers, and Head of Primary.
Other
- Assist in selection of equipment and instructional materials.
- Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
● Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education or related field.
● Three (3) years of teaching Physical Education or a related subject area at the required grade levels.
● Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
● The flexibility in attitude and teaching styles associated with a private school education.
● Ability to motivate students to participate in various forms of fitness and health impacting activities.
● Ability to instruct students and manage student behavior, in a large group setting indoors and out.
● Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills that will positively influence colleagues, students, and parent community members.
● Ability to adjust and adapt to a multitude of situations in the school environment
Preferred Qualifications:
● Master’s Degree in Physical Education or related field.
● Five (5) years of teaching Physical Education or a related subject area.
● PE Teacher certification.
● Familiarity with educational technology such as interactive boards and multimedia instruments.
● Bilingual French language skills are a plus.
