Chief Financial Officer

Ursuline Academy of Dallas

Dallas, TX

Ursuline Academy of Dallas, an independent Catholic college preparatory school for young women, invites nominations and applications for the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Infused by the spirit of Serviam - “I will serve” - this is an exceptional opportunity for a mission-driven financial leader to join a distinguished institution rooted in the Ursuline tradition of academic excellence, service, and leadership.

The CFO serves as a key member of the administrative leadership team, providing strategic oversight of all financial operations and aligning resources with the Academy’s mission and long-term priorities. Reporting directly to the President, Dr. Andrea Shurley – in her third year in the role – the CFO also supports the Board of Trustees and plays a leadership role in matters related to the Ursuline Academy Foundation.

Ursuline Academy operates from a position of strength. The school recently completed a transformative $80+ million capital campaign that has significantly enhanced the campus through new construction and major renovations, including upgraded academic, performing arts, and athletic facilities. These investments have positioned the Academy to deliver an exceptional educational experience while supporting continued growth and programmatic excellence.

At a time of continued institutional momentum, Ursuline seeks a collaborative and forward-thinking leader who can steward its financial resources, strengthen operational systems, and support the Academy’s ongoing commitment to empowering young women to lead and serve. This is a unique opportunity to reinforce a strong financial and operational foundation while helping to shape the next chapter of Ursuline Academy’s growth and impact.

The successful CFO at Ursuline will be a:

  • Strategic Architect who aligns financial planning with mission and long-term institutional goals, including campus expansion, capital investment, and sustained enrollment-driven growth.
  • Trusted Advisor who provides clear, actionable financial insights to the President and Board, supporting a governance structure that includes both Academy and Foundation boards and multiple committees.
  • Collaborative Partner who builds strong relationships across a close-knit leadership team and supports department leaders in a highly relational, mission-centered school environment.
  • Operational and Systems Leader who drives process improvement and leads the modernization of financial systems, enhancing efficiency, data access, and cross-functional integration.
  • Organizational Leader who inspires and develops a loyal, high-performing team across finance, human resources, and operations, fostering a culture of service, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Campus Steward who provides strategic oversight of facilities, security, and auxiliary operations, while contributing to long-term planning for newly acquired property and future campus development.
  • Mission-Aligned Leader who embraces the spirit of servant leadership and reflects Ursuline’s values in decision-making, leadership style, and engagement with the school community.
