Lower School Music Teacher
Annunciation Orthodox School (AOS) seeks a vibrant, creative, and dedicated Lower School Music Teacher to join our faculty. The ideal candidate is passionate about nurturing a lifelong love for music in young learners through diverse styles and hands-on performance. We are seeking a collaborative, professional teacher eager to enrich our school community and support our Greek Orthodox traditions.

Reports to: Director of Fine Arts Status: Salaried/Exempt Start Date: August 3, 2026
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM; additional time as needed for before- and after-school chorus and percussion as well as meetings and events, including various meetings that take place until 5:00 PM every Tuesday
Responsibilities:
- Instruct daily music classes for grades 2-4
- Conduct the Lower School Chorus, specifically for students in grades 3-4
- Lead a small percussion ensemble focused on bucket drumming, tone chimes, xylophones, or other drum techniques for grades 3-5
- Expand the reach and impact of the existing Classical Countdown program
- Plan and facilitate school concerts, special performances, and community events as required
- Showcase professional experience directing and managing children’s choral ensembles
- Collaborate with grade-level teachers for Celebration of Learning performances
- Manage assigned carpool and lunchroom supervision duties with a positive attitude
- Inspire a diverse student body to appreciate and enjoy a wide variety of musical styles
- Partner with the Parish Priest and Cathedral to support music in weekly chapel services as needed

- Additional teaching and coverage responsibilities will be assigned according to the strengths and skills of the hired candidate and the needs of the school to ensure a full teaching load
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in education, fine arts, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Several years of experience teaching general music to elementary-aged students
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Advanced piano skills beyond the foundational or basic level
- Experience in teaching recorders, Boomwhackers, Orff instruments, and/or ukuleles
- A passion for the arts and education
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
