Math Coordinator

 

Annunciation Orthodox School (AOS) seeks an innovative and reflective educator with strong expertise in math curriculum and instruction to serve as Math Coordinator for our full school (3 year olds - 8th grade). AOS has a well-established and highly regarded math program that is recognized locally and nationally. The Math Coordinator will build upon this strong foundation by supporting teachers, strengthening instructional practices, and ensuring appropriate differentiation for all learners. This position works primarily with teachers and collaborates closely with division heads, the coordinator team, and the student support team to ensure academic growth and student development across the school.

Reports to: Head of Early Childhood & Lower School and Head of Middle School

Status: Salaried/Exempt

Start Date: July 6, 2026

Work Schedule: Year-Round, Monday-Friday 7:30 AM-4:00 PM; additional time as needed for meetings and events.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Build upon an established and refined AOS math curriculum and pedagogy, maintaining alignment with current standards while identifying thoughtful, targeted opportunities for continued growth
  • Support the ongoing refinement of the established math curriculum, Math in Focus, as well as several curricula used for specific courses and supplemental materials such as Greg Tang Math, ST Math, and ALEKS
  • Support teachers in designing learning experiences that promote deep mathematical understanding and collaborative problem-solving. Familiarity with Building Thinking Classrooms (BTC) is preferred, along with a willingness to learn and apply BTC practices in support of the existing program
  • Provide ongoing, embedded professional learning for teachers that includes feedback and instructional coaching
  • Connect teachers with current research, best practices, and instructional strategies in mathematics education
  • Analyze student achievement data and support data-informed instructional decision making
  • Collaborate with teachers to assess individual student learning and design differentiated instruction
  • Coordinate and communicate the middle school math course placement process, considering individual student needs and clearly communicating outcomes to families
  • Coordinate the Math Ambassador program, providing leadership opportunities for seventh-grade students as they support math learning through games with Kindergarten through fifth-grade students
  • Communicate with families through meetings, curriculum resources, and school platforms to support understanding of the math program
  • Serve on the academic team and collaborate with other coordinators
  • Value innovation and flexibility in curriculum design, instructional practices, and professional learning
  • Foster an environment of trust while championing teamwork and shared responsibility
  • Flexible thinking with regard to job responsibilities, noting that the position may evolve over time as the school, program, and coordinator grow
  • Support the effective operation of the math program through administrative work, including database maintenance, meeting preparation, ordering math resources, and program documentation
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Several years of teaching experience in Math
  • Demonstrated leadership and organizational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proficiency in curriculum development
  • Knowledge of Math in Focus, Building Thinking Classrooms, Greg Tang Math, ST Math, and ALEKS are all a bonus, but not initially required
