Headwaters School, a Pre-K through grade 12 independent day school serving 500 students across its three campuses in Austin, TX, is seeking a full time Math and Design Teacher in our Middle and High School for the 2026-2027 academic year.

The course load for this full-time position includes teaching six courses - a combination of middle and high school math and design classes, including courses within the International Baccalaureate’s Middle Years Programme (MYP) - as well as serving as an advisor. Candidates will also be prepared to participate in the life of the school, including, but not limited to supervision of lunch, teaching an elective, coaching, sponsoring a club, serving as an advisor, chaperoning trips, and other duties as assigned by the Campus Director.

 

Teaching Job Requirements:

• At least three years prior experience teaching Math or Design in a high school setting

• Bachelor's Degree required–degree in Math, Education or a related field preferred

• Ability to teach any grade level of middle and high school

• Experience developing curriculum strongly preferred

• Passion for working with the middle and high school age

• A belief in the power of international mindedness

• Advanced Degree, preferred

• Strong commitment to equity, inclusion and belonging practice and curriculum in the classroom

• An understanding of and belief in the mission of the International Baccalaureate Organization, with an emphasis on the Middle Years Programme

• Commitment to personal and professional development

• Willingness to work interdisciplinary and to highlight conceptual throughlines

• A creative problem-solver, who collaborates with colleagues

• Operate with a high level of integrity, professionalism, and organization

• Proficiency with Google Suite and learning management tools

 

This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position and compensation is competitive for the greater Austin area.
