MIDDLE SCHOOL MATH TEACHER OVERVIEW OF POSITION

St. Andrew's Episcopal School is seeking an innovative middle school math teacher for a full-time, permanent position starting August 2026 at our 31st Street campus in Austin, Texas. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree or higher in math or STEM field, several years of relevant teaching experience, excellent character, and a passion for teaching middle school mathematics. This full-time position will involve teaching up to five sections of middle school math, including on-level and advanced courses. Almost all middle school math courses are team taught.

 

The ideal candidate is an accomplished, collaborative teacher with student-centered pedagogy and successful classroom experience with a strong ability to connect with middle school students. Experience with department leadership and math placements is preferred. Salary will be based on credentials and experience.   • Act as an advisor for 8-10 students daily - provide academic support, social emotional development, & facilitate discussions regarding inclusion & belonging
  • Attend daily chapel with their advisory

  • Prioritize student relationships & foster a safe & predictable environment
  • Attend at least one overnight trip yearly with the grade level they advise
  • Attend weekly meetings to facilitate growth & learning: full faculty, team-level, & department as needed

  • Strive to connect & collaborate with other disciplines

 

  • Offer one elective choice for students to grow their interests in one of the four pillars (Scholar, Artist, Athlete, Servant)
  • Are team players & open to serve the community in other ways that arise throughout a school year
