It’s not news that longevity in headship is becoming harder to sustain. As pressures on school leaders intensify, from enrollment and financial strain to cultural, social, and political conflict, too many heads are leaving before they have had the time to make a lasting difference. That loss is not only disruptive; it can weaken a school’s financial health, emotional stability, and sense of direction. Independent schools need steady leadership.
