Job Description

To assume the helm of a very successful and yet highly aspirational athletic department, Fort Worth Country Day seeks an energetic, experienced and confident leader with a passion for working with students, faculty, and parents. A member of the School’s senior leadership team, the Athletic Director is responsible for the direction and management of all athletic programs at the School. The athletic department's next leader must have a contagious passion for athletics, high expectations for all teams and coaches, the ability to help coaches meet those expectations, and experience making difficult decisions. The Athletic Director at FWCD sets the tone for good sportsmanship, good health and the spirit of teamwork. A school with a real commitment to athletics and arts as invaluable additions to its academic focus, the A.D. at FWCD works closely with the Director of Fine Arts. While the Athletic Director also works in conjunction with the three division heads (Lower, Middle and Upper Schools), the Director ultimately reports to the Head of School.

  • Be innovative in problem solving and in program development
  • Have comfort seeking input and applying constructive criticism
  • Have a sense of humor
  • Have a keen understanding of issues of inclusivity and diversity
