Football Defensive Coordinator/Classroom Teacher

 

Houston Christian High School (HCHS) is seeking to fill the position of Football Defensive Coordinator to begin for the 2026-27 school year. This is a part-time position but may be combined with  another role to become  a full-time position.

 

Applicants should have a comprehensive knowledge of the sport, coaching high school athletes, and development of assistant coaches. Successful candidates will demonstrate experience building a highly competitive program and the ability to successfully recruit middle school players. Coaches at HC promote sportsmanship, foster good character in student athletes, provide for the safety and welfare of all participants, and lead as a Christian role model in all settings. The Football Defensive Coordinator reports to the Director of Athletics and the Head Football Coach. Additional duties of this coach include working in coordination with the Director of Athletics to manage program budget, supervise activities and promote positive community relations. Applicants shall embrace the athletic philosophy of the school and give full support to the multi-sport athlete.

 

Minimum Requirements:

Broad knowledge and skills in the principles and methods of Football program operations.
Ability to supervise and evaluate the coaching responsibilities of assistant coaches.
Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills.
Working knowledge of SPC policies and HC policies governing athletics.
Understand and agree with the philosophy and mission of HC.
Minimum of five years coaching experience preferred.
Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
