ANNUAL GIVING AND ALUMNI RELATIONS DIRECTOR

Position Reporting to the Director of Development, the Annual Giving and Alumni Relations Director designs and leads programs that strengthen community investment in Heritage Hall. This role oversees the Annual Fund and alumni engagement, serving as both strategist and relationship-builder to inspire meaningful involvement and generous support of the School.

 

Annual Fund Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Annual Fund strategy that advances the School’s mission and fosters a culture of philanthropy.
  • Research, identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward annual fund donors at all levels, moving them through the donor cycle.
  • Partner with and support volunteer leaders and grade captains to achieve Annual Fund goals.
  • Establish annual giving goals that align with the School’s operating budget priorities, including faculty salaries, financial aid, academics, arts, and athletics.
  • Serve as an advocate for donors, ensuring their experience is valued and their engagement deepens.
  • Manage Annual Fund budget and provide regular progress reporting.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities at the discretion of the Director of Development to advance the School’s fundraising efforts.

 

Alumni Relations Responsibilities

  • Lead the School’s alumni program, fostering lifelong connections between graduates and Heritage Hall.
  • Partner with the Heritage Hall Alumni Association (HHAA) to support board meetings, events, awards, scholarships, and endowment programs.
  • Guide alumni reunion planning and develop a structured reunion giving program.
  • Manage a portfolio of alumni prospects, developing personalized cultivation and solicitation strategies.
  • Collaborate with volunteers to create alumni initiatives such as networking opportunities, job fairs, guest speaker programs, and mentorship.
  • Oversee alumni communications and outreach, including social media, newsletters, Charger Call updates, and life milestone recognition.
  • Support class agents in reconnecting alumni, collecting updates, promoting events, and encouraging giving.
  • Recruit, train, and support alumni class agents to maintain connections, promote events, and encourage giving.
  • Work with the database coordinator to maintain accurate alumni records and track engagement and giving attributes.
  • Plan and attend local, regional, and national alumni events to expand reach and strengthen ties.
  • Partner with current students, including serving as one of three senior sponsors, to prepare them for active alumni participation.

ANNUAL GIVING AND ALUMNI RELATIONS DIRECTOR

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required;
  • Minimum of 2 years of development experience (independent school or higher education preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to work across diverse constituencies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to build strong donor relationships and effectively communicate the School’s mission.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and flexibility.
  • Strategic thinker with a collaborative, “can-do” attitude.
  • Familiarity with the Oklahoma City philanthropic and school community preferred
